It was certainly a conundrum, that was for sure. News of the missing commanders had been slow in the beginning, bits of information that he’d dismissed as nothing more than rumors started by gullible cons who were just looking to sow trouble and confusion for their own amusement. But as time passed and the lack of any high ranking commanders became more apparent, he’d started to pay attention.

In the beginning, he would have been content to simply wait a few more days for the whole thing to blow over. The commanders would come back eventually, and if not, that was something to worry about when the time came. No use overreacting. It wasn’t as if the base depended on their guidance for everyday functions. Sure the situation had him curious, but more troubling were the several recruits who decided that rallying support for their own temporary leadership would be the most prudent course of action.

He’d briefly considered supporting Avvade if only for the perk of possibly getting his weapons back, but quickly thought better of it. There was no way he could stomach doing anything under the ‘authority’ of that menace, and trying to convince himself otherwise would just lead to more trouble down the road. At the thought, Mulhall unconsciously rubbed a thumb over where he’d had to get one of his digits reattached several months back after it had been completely severed by said minicon.

The boat had heard tell of Avvade’s plan to storm the Guardian Tower to find and distribute all the weapons stored there, and honestly he had no problem with that. If it worked, then he’d try to get his own stuff back once the heat had died down. If it failed, then that either meant that both Avvade and his followers had failed to execute a simple siege operation, or that the weapons cache was so well secured that even in the event of an emergency they were not accessible for defensive purposes. In light of both situations, he hoped whatever group Avvade managed to gather was successful in their endeavors.

In the meantime, his efforts were better put towards what he considered to be a more prudent course of action. Nighthawk’s base-wide announcement was short, concise, and most importantly, made sense for the situation. Bots didn’t just go missing all of a sudden, not without some hint of reason behind it. Whatever was going on, they needed to get to the bottom of it. Hopefully Nighthawk would have more information about the matter by the time they assembled in the rescue team headquarters.

Mulhall still had his reservations about working under the elderly medic. He would admit that they had gotten off to a bit of a rocky start, but he wouldn’t let a single interaction pave the way for their entire working relationship. In fact, this would be a prime opportunity to see Nighthawk’s leadership abilities in action. And while he felt that calling it a rescue at this point was too hasty a judgment to make, if that's what it came down to, then he would do his part.

Written for the :icondecepticon-nation: 'Fool Leader' Sidequest.

Mulhall's support goes to Nighthawk and I guess by extension Datahack since their goals are the same) for this one, though it's probably too late for it to matter since Mission 007 has already come out.

Just in my opinion, tis good that Mulhall would choose Nighthawk over Avvade... Better to avoid getting in trouble despite wanting said weapons back. ;o; Least Nightblade doesn't have to go through all that since she has her own weapons back fair and square. 83 Wheee!
